The many advantages of a kit pool

A kit pool provides potential pool owners with the freedom to install or oversee the installation of their new backyard addition. However, while there are many advantages to purchasing a kit pool, there are also some technicalities to consider.

A kit pool package usually includes the pool shell, pump, filter, chlorinator (if you're after a saltwater pool) or other choice of sanitiser. Other features that may come with the kit include start-up chemicals (chlorine, acid and pH buffer) or cleaning accessories.

Experienced builders or competent handymen may feel confident in setting up the kit pool themselves, but for those who like a bit of additional assurance, hiring a professional installer may be worth the extra cash in the long run. Engaging the services of a licensed builder should also ensure a seven-year installation warranty for ongoing peace of mind.

But that's not to say you can't do it yourself – after all, that's what buying a kit pool is all about. Dennis has seen enough home installation disasters to know what pool owners should be wary of and he is happy to guide his customers through the process if they wish to take the DIY approach.
