image of kate mckeeQ. What's the process involved in advising people on bathware for their homes?

A. Customers generally come into our showroom with their floor plans and from there we can select all their bathroom products. There are many things to consider when selecting products, including desired style, design and functionality as well as the space and plumbing set-up of their bathroom.

Q. What should people know before they come to a showroom?

A. To bring in as many details as possible in regards to measurements and inspirational images to illustrate the look they wish to achieve. Also, set aside a significant amount of time, as selections often take a while.

Q. What should people consider when choosing bathroom products?

A. The look they wish to achieve and also what they want out of their bathroom design. This might be dependent on the bathroom's purpose; for example, if it's a kids' bathroom, it might be best to select products for their functionality and durability.

Q. What are the latest trends in bathroom products?

A. There's a trend towards more organic forms and fluid lines, with many manufacturers employing top European designers to achieve this look. Square tapware is also becoming mainstream and everything is becoming wall hung, from vanity units to basins and even toilets.

Q. What do you enjoy most about your job?

A. I enjoy the problem-solving side of the job: to achieve a look that the customer loves.

Q. What does your job entail on a day-to-day level?

A. I deal with builders, developers, plumbers, architects, interior designers and the general public to provide bathroom inspirations and solutions. This might include site visits with our account customers or taking showroom visitors through their product selections.
